What does the Islamic Finder do?
IslamicFinder, as a non-profit organization, serves Islam on the Internet and currently provides information about mosques, Islamic organizations, Islamic centers, and Muslim owned businesses all over the world (our users can also add them). It also provides prayer times for more than 5.2 million cities worldwide with quite accurate information about their Qiblah direction, distance from Kaaba (Makkah), longitude, and latitude. Furthermore, it has an Islamic web directory covering all the necessary information about Islam (Islam, The Holy Quran, Hadith, Fiqh and Fatawa, Education, Muslim Family, Islamic History and Biography, Health and Islamic Medicine, Economy and Commerce, and more). Another service provided by IslamicFinder is the Hijri calendar and Gregorian-Hijri date conversion. The free Athan (Azan) software, which makes you hear the Athan (Azan) from your computer 5 times a day, is another service to Muslim Ummah. In addition to the above-mentioned services, it offers articles on different issues and an Islamic photo gallery of thousands of photos, images, and Eid cards that a user can send to others, too.
How do I search if I don't have the Zip code?
First, try to get a nearby zip code if possible, for example, from the hotel you will be staying at or from the address of a friend in the same area. If you can not get a zip code, search by state and find the city you are going to. Go to a specific record and get the zip code. This zip code can then be used with a certain distance to get the records in the nearby area.
Why don't I get the prayer times when I search by state?
You need to reach a specific record before the prayer time is displayed. This is because the prayer time tool has to know the exact location within the state before displaying the prayer time.
I entered a zip code, but your service didn't accept it?
First, make sure the zip code you have is correct! If you think you have a correct zip code and our database doesn't accept it, you most likely have a new zip code! Send us an email including the zip code and any information that can help us locate the exact Longtitude and Latitude, for example, the name of the city/state or another zip code in the same area. Click here to contact us.
How do I add a record of my local Masjid or market?
It is simple click the "Add Masjid or Islamic Center" under the "Prayer times" menu available on the top bar on every page and use the form to fill out all the information you have then click on the submit button. If you don't have all the information, you can enter what you have and later use the update option, which is available when you display the record, to add more information to the record. The addition of a new record will not be available on our database until we actually post your record to the database, this usually doesn't take long but allow 3-5 days.
How do I update a record?
To make this process as simple as possible we require that you first go to the record that you intend to update by searching for it in the normal manner. You will see at the end of the record "Update This Record!" link, click on that link and the update form will show you the content of the record in an editable context. We require that you provide us with your name and email address in the contact person section. When you are done hit "Request update to this record". Again your changes will be available on our database once we have a chance to post it, which usually take 2-3 days. We will inform you when it is ready by email.

| What is the difference between Standard and Hanfi (Juristic Methods)?
The only difference is in the Asr prayer. In the standard method (which is used by imamas Shafi, Hanbali, and Malki) the Asr prayer time starts when the shadow of an object is equivalent to its height. Whereas in the Hanafi method the Asr prayer time starts when the shadow of an object is twice its height.
