Sweet Lassi

This tasty yogurt drink, a specialty of Pakistan and India, will be your go-to drink to control your thirst.

Refresh yourself with chilled Sweet Lassi (yogurt drink) topped with cardamom powder! You can add more or less yogurt or water for a thicker or thinner beverage. For a Salty Lassi, you can substitute 1/2 teaspoon salt for the sugar.

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 cups thick yogurt / curd, fresh
  • 6 tbsp sugar, powdered
  • 0.5 cup ice cold water
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • 2 tbsp fresh cream / malai
  • few dry fruits, almonds, cashews, pistachios, chopped

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. firstly, take 4 cups of curd in a large jug.
  2. whisk till the curd turns smooth. you can also blend using the hand blender / mixi.
  3. furthermore, add ice cold water to adjust the consistency.
  4. also add 6-7 tbsp of powdered sugar.
  5. then add cardamom powder.
  6. whisk again till a frothy layer is formed. you can also blend using the hand blender / mixi.
  7. additionally add cream for more rich taste. and give a good stir.
  8. transfer the lassi to a serving jar.
  9. also garnish with few chopped nuts. 
  10. Finally serve chilled along with few ice cubes.
