King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida traveled to the Muslim-majority southern province of Pattani to preside over the 19th National Quran Competition. On 10th October, the annual event took place at the Pattani Provincial Central Mosque.

Honoring Local Islamic Leadership

During their visit, the royal couple presented the Provincial Islamic Committee's Best Imam Awards for 2025. Plaque recognitions and cash rewards were handed directly to local Islamic committee members and imams to acknowledge their dedicated community service and leadership.

This royal engagement continues an established tradition; the King and Queen also presided over the competition in 2024, where they presented awards to event winners and distributed essential survival kits to attendees.

Community Support and Halal Catering

Beyond the official ceremony, the visit included direct humanitarian support for local residents who gathered for the occasion. The accompanying royal medical team provided medical consultations and treatment to 787 people. Additionally, fresh, boxed halal meals were distributed to attendees throughout the event.
