حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا خَارِجَةُ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْيَزِيدَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، وَكَانَ أَكْبَرَ مِنْ زَيْدٍ، قَالَ: خَرَجْنَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَلَمَّا وَرَدَ الْبَقِيعَ فَإِذَا هُوَ بِقَبْرٍ جَدِيدٍ، فَسَأَلَ عَنْهُ، فَقَالُوا: فُلَانَةُ، قَالَ: فَعَرَفَهَا، وَقَالَ: أَلَا آذَنْتُمُونِي بِهَا؟ ، قَالُوا: كُنْتَ قَائِلًا صَائِمًا فَكَرِهْنَا أَنْ نُؤْذِيَكَ، قَالَ: فَلَا تَفْعَلُوا لَا أَعْرِفَنَّ مَا مَاتَ فِيكُمْ مَيِّتٌ مَا كُنْتُ بَيْنَ أَظْهُرِكُمْ إِلَّا آذَنْتُمُونِي بِهِ، فَإِنَّ صَلَاتِي عَلَيْهِ لَهُ رَحْمَةٌ ، ثُمَّ أَتَى الْقَبْرَ، فَصَفَفْنَا خَلْفَهُ فَكَبَّرَ عَلَيْهِ أَرْبَعًا.
SAHIH HADITH:
Kharijah bin Zaid bin Thabit narrated that Yazid bin Thabit, who was older than Zaid, said: “We went out with the Prophet (ﷺ) and when we reached Al-Baqi’, we saw a new grave. He asked about it and they said: ‘(It is) so-and-so (a woman).’ He recognized the name and said: ‘Why did you not tell me about her?’ They said: ‘You were taking a nap and you were fasting, and we did not like to disturb you.’ He said: ‘Do not do that; I do not want to see it happen again that one of you dies, while I am still among you, and you do not tell me, for my prayer for him is a mercy.’ Then he went to the grave and we lined up in rows behind him, and he said four Takbir (i.e. for the funeral prayer).”
