Allah’s Mercy prevails over His Wrath

On the Authority of Abu Huraira (R.A.), Allah's Messenger (S.A.W.) said,

When Allah had finished His creation, He wrote over his Throne: “My Mercy preceded My Anger.”

(Sahih Al-Bukhari: 7453)

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

The Hadith is self-explanatory as Allah has clearly told His servants that His mercy proceeds His wrath. True meaning of this Hadith can also be understood by another Hadith which is also narrated by Abu Huraira (R.A.). In this Hadith, our Prophet Mohammad (S.A.W.) said:

There are one hundred (parts of) mercy for Allah and He has sent down out of these one part of mercy upon the jinn and human beings and animals and the insects, and it is because of this (one part) that they love one another, show kindness to one another and even the beast treats its young one with affection, and Allah has reserved ninety-nine parts of mercy with which He would treat His servants on the Day of Resurrection. [Muslim: 2752 (c)]

So being a Muslim, we always hope for Allah’s mercy and never ever ask for His wrath. May Allah accept all our supplications and grant us with Jannah on the day of judgement.
