Between all the tasks that keep us on our feet all day long, let's carve a minute in between to remember Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala!

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) once said,
“Allah says: ‘I am just as My slave thinks I am, (i.e. I am able to do for him what he thinks I can do for him) and I am with him if He remembers Me. If he remembers Me in himself, I too, remember him in Myself; and if he remembers Me in a group of people, I remember him in a group that is better than they; and if he comes one span nearer to Me, I go one cubit nearer to him; and if he comes one cubit nearer to Me, I go a distance of two outstretched arms nearer to him; and if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running.’” - (Sahih Al-Bukhari 7405)
Considering the exaggerated schedule most of us follow in today’s hectic life, it can be challenging to find some time to spend on ourselves.
However, even between the tasks that keep us on our feet all day long, we can still carve a minute or two in between to remember Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala. After all, He’s the One who keeps rewarding us with His blessings, despite all our flaws.
That said, here’s how we can contribute our role in the remembrance of Allah (SWT) and do Dhikr without affecting our busy lifestyle. We can do the following Dhikrs either silently in our heart or by forming words whenever we have a minute during our daily chores and job:
1- Say “Alhamdulillah”
Translation: “Praise is to Allah (SWT).”
2- Say “SubhanAllah”
Translation: “Glory be to Allah (SWT).”
3- Say “Astaghfirullah”
Translation: “I seek forgiveness from Allah (SWT).”
4- Say “Allahu Akbar”
Translation: “Allah (SWT) is the greatest.”
5- Say “La Ilaha Illallah”
Translation: “There is none worthy of worship except Allah (SWT).”
6- Say “La Hawla Wala Quwwata Illa Billah”
Translation: “There is neither might nor power but with Allah (SWT).”
Whether we’re on our way to work, cooking dinner, standing in seemingly never-ending queues, or taking a minute to recoup during work, we can effectively incorporate these small Dhikrs, receiving endless blessings in return.
Indeed, when we remember Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala in all turns of life, He rewards us for our trust and faithfulness in the best of ways!
