Constant remembrance of Allah (SWT) blocks the distractions of life and calms the mind.
Written by IslamicFinder
Dhikr is a devotional act in Islam to remember the Almighty by means of short duas and supplications.
Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala says in Holy Qur’an:
“O you who have believed, remember Allah with much remembrance. And exalt Him morning and afternoon. It is He who confers blessing upon you, and His angels [ask Him to do so] that He may bring you out from darknesses into the light. And ever is He, to the believers, Merciful.” – (Al-Ahzab: 41-43)
We, as true believers, must reflect upon the favors of our Lord and be grateful to Him for all His blessings.
If you’re wondering how to increase Dhikr in your daily life, you can benefit from incorporating the following 5 steps into your routine!
1- Recite the Book of Allah (SWT) Daily
One of the best ways of increasing Dhikr is to recite at least a few verses of the Holy Qur’an every day. Depending on your schedule, you can either recite Qur’an after a specific Salah or when you get time between your daily chores.
2- Make Ayatul Kursi a Part of Routine
There are multiple ways of making Ayatul Kursi a part of your life. For starters, you can make it a habit by reciting the throne verse before going to bed every night or saying it at the end of each Surah and chapter when reading the Holy Qur’an.
3- Seek Refuge In Allah (SWT)
Another practical way of increasing Dhikr in your daily routine is to make lots of duas after each Salah and ask Allah (SWT) for His forgiveness.
4- Say “Alhamdulillah” For All Blessings
There’s so much Allah (SWT) has blessed us with in this life. It’s only fair to say “Alhamdulillah” every chance you get, thanking the Almighty for all the blessings you’ve been given.
5- Turn Adhkar Into a Habit
Make a habit of saying “Allahu Akbar,” “MashaAllah,” and “SubhanAllah” as you go about your chores. Soon, you’ll be doing this without much thought as it slowly but surely becomes a part of who you are.
Indeed, Dhikr is one of the simplest yet powerful ways to worship Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala as it carries great benefits and virtues for the believers. May the Almighty reward us with goodness and guide us to the right path. Ameen.
