جُندٌ مَّا هُنَالِكَ مَهْزُومٌ مِّنَ ٱلْأَحْزَابِ
Jundun ma hunalika mahzoomun mina alahzabi
Here there is a host of the confederates only to be defeated.
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ ذُو ٱلْأَوْتَادِ
Kaththabat qablahum qawmu noohin waAAadun wafirAAawnu thoo alawtadi
Before them there have belied the people of Nuh and the 'Aad, and Fir'awn the owner of the stakes.
وَثَمُودُ وَقَوْمُ لُوطٍ وَأَصْحَٰبُ لْـَٔيْكَةِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلْأَحْزَابُ
Wathamoodu waqawmu lootin waashabu alaykati olaika alahzabu
And the Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the dwellers of the wood; these were the confederates.
إِن كُلٌّ إِلَّا كَذَّبَ ٱلرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ عِقَابِ
In kullun illa kaththaba alrrusula fahaqqa AAiqabi
There was not one but belied the apostles, wherefore justified was My wrath.
وَمَا يَنظُرُ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَٰحِدَةً مَّا لَهَا مِن فَوَاقٍ
Wama yanthuru haolai illa sayhatan wahidatan ma laha min fawaqin
And these wait but for one shout, wherefrom there will be no deferment.
وَقَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا عَجِّل لَّنَا قِطَّنَا قَبْلَ يَوْمِ ٱلْحِسَابِ
Waqaloo rabbana AAajjil lana qittana qabla yawmi alhisabi
And they say: our Lord! hasten our portion unto us before the Day of Reckoning
ٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَٱذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَا دَاوُۥدَ ذَا ٱلْأَيْدِ إِنَّهُۥٓ أَوَّابٌ
Isbir AAala ma yaqooloona waothkur AAabdana dawooda tha alaydi innahu awwabun
Bear thou with that which they say, and remember Our bondman, Da-ud, endured with strength; verily he was oft-returning onto Us.
إِنَّا سَخَّرْنَا ٱلْجِبَالَ مَعَهُۥ يُسَبِّحْنَ بِٱلْعَشِىِّ وَٱلْإِشْرَاقِ
Inna sakhkharna aljibala maAAahu yusabbihna bialAAashiyyi waalishraqi
Verily We so subjected the mountains that they should hallow Us with him at nightfall and sunrise.
وَٱلطَّيْرَ مَحْشُورَةً كُلٌّ لَّهُۥٓ أَوَّابٌ
Waalttayra mahshooratan kullun lahu awwabun
And the birds also, gathering all oft-returning onto Him on his account.
وَشَدَدْنَا مُلْكَهُۥ وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُ ٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَفَصْلَ ٱلْخِطَابِ
Washadadna mulkahu waataynahu alhikmata wafasla alkhitabi
And We made his dominion strong and vouchsafed him wisdom and decisive speech.
