Ramadan 1st Ashra Dua, 2nd Ashra Dua and 3rd Ashra Dua

DUAS FOR THREE ASHRA OF RAMADAN

According to Hadith narrated by Salman Farsi (R.A.), who said that Prophet (S.A.W.) said:

“Ramadan is a month whose beginning is mercy, its middle is forgiveness and its end is ransom from the Fire”.

(Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah, Hadith No. 1887)

This is a Daaif (weak) hadith and many scholars do not recognize or recommend this Hadith due to its grade (weak Hadith). However, there are many scholars who still mention this Hadith in their sermons and speeches to motivate Muslims to ask Supplications during this month.

There are no specific Supplications mentioned in any Hadith for these three ashras of Ramadan, however, many scholars have suggested some supplications for these Three Ashras of Ramadan:

Dua for First 10 Days of Ramadan

First Ashra Dua or Ramadan First Ashra Dua (during first 10 days of Ramadan), also known as ‘Pehle Ashray ki Dua’ in Urdu language, is a Dua for the first 10 days of Ramadan and many Muslims around the world recite this 1st ashra Dua during the entire first 10 days of Ramadan.

يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغيثُ

Oh Everliving, The Everlasting, I seek Your help through Your mercy.

Ramadan first Ashra Dua is self-explanatory and we are asking for Allah’s mercy though this Supplication.

Second Ashra Dua

2nd Ashra Dua, also known as ‘Dusre Ashraki Dua’ in Urdu language, is a Supplication which many Muslims recite during the middle 10 days of Ramadan.

اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللہَ رَبِّی مِنْ کُلِّ زَنْبٍ وَّ اَتُوْبُ اِلَیْہِ

I seek forgiveness from Allah for all my sins and turn to Him.

2nd Ashra Dua or ‘Dusre Ashra ki Dua’ is self-explanatory as we are asking for Allah’s forgiveness though this Supplication.

Dua for Last 10 days of Ramadan

Third Ashra Dua or Dua for last 10 days of Ramadan, also known as ‘Teesra Ashra ki Dua’ is a Dua for last 10 days of Ramadan and many Muslims around the world recite this during last 10 days of Ramadan

اَللَّهُمَّ أَجِرْنِي مِنَ النَّارِ

O Allah, save me from the fire (Jahannam).

Prophet (S.A.W.) used to strive hard in worship during the last 10 days of Ramadan as he never did at any other time.

Lailatul Qadr is one of the odd nights of last 10 days of Ramadan and doing good deeds during this night is better than thousand months (Surah Al-Qadr 97:3).

Narrated by Aisha (R.A.), who said: ‘I asked the Messenger of Allah: 'O Messenger of Allah, if I know what night is the night of Qadr, what should I say during it?' Prophet (S.A.W.) recited the following Dua.’

Most scholars recommend the following Dua for the last 10 days of Ramadan because of the fact that Hadiht in which this Dua is mentioned is Sahih (most authentic) in grade.

So recite the following Dua not only for lailatul qadr but for the entire third ashra of Ramadan because this Dua is recommended by our Prophet (S.A.W.). This Dua should be regularly recited during the entire 3rd ashra of Ramadan.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّكَرِيمٌ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

O Allah, indeed You are Pardoning, [Generous,] You love pardon, so pardon me

  (Tirmidhi: 3513)

As mentioned above there is no consensus among scholars about the Three Ashra Duas of Ramadan but there are some Ramadan Supplications which you can recite any time during the year as these Duas are from Sahih Ahadiths and all scholars around the world recommend to recite these throughout the month of Ramadan and throughout the year.
