It is True that Allah (SWT) surely provides assistance one way or the other and that tables do turn, just like they have now again; for Muslims. For the very first time, NZ Parliament session opened with the recitation of the Holy Quran. A Muslim Imam on Tuesday led prayers in New Zealand’s Parliament, after last week’s terrorist attack on two mosques, Al Noor and Linwood, claiming 50 lives lost.

Nizam ul Haq Thanvi recited verses (of Patience) from the Holy Quran, in Arabic, for the victims of the mosque massacre of peaceful worshippers. A translation into English by Imam Tahir Navaz followed.

New Zealand Parliament Speaker Trevor Mallard also called for unity and solidarity, and Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, spoke the Islamic greeting "As-salamu alaykum" or "peace be upon you". She said of the attack’s victims that:

"They were New Zealanders, they were us. Because they were us, we mourn them."

Jacinda Ardern also said that the victims came from across the Muslim world, with Turkey, Bangladesh, Indonesia and Malaysia among the countries rendering consular assistance. Moreover, in regards to the terrorist, she said:

“He may have sought notoriety, but we in New Zealand will give him nothing. Not even his name.”

This incident has been tragic indeed and all we can do is pray for the families and those who left this world. Let others know of those who got victimized in this massacre so they can also recite Surah Fatiha, pray to Allah (SWT) for the injured as well as make duas for deceased.
