Ever thought that a Muslim female would make way into the courtrooms of US in the position of a Judge? Of course, the idea itself seems alarming due to the increased anti-Muslim sentiment spread across the United States. Alas, its true now and Muslims worldwide are thrilled by this news.

As reported by Ary News, the Pakistani American woman, Rabeea Collier, has become judge of the 113th District Court in times of rising Islamophobia. She has been chosen for Harris County in US state of Texas. Rabeea Collier, who is a Democrat, has been practicing law for approximately 12 years. Collier is a graduate of Kingwood High School in Houston, Texas. She has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from the University of Texas, Austin. She also earned a Juris Doctor degree from Texas Southern University, Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, Texas.

For more than a decade, Rabeea has been zealously representing individuals, non-profits, and small to publicly traded businesses in courthouses across the whole Harris County. She specializes in litigation, including commercial litigation, general contractual matters, consumer law, civil rights and deceptive trade practices. She has handled almost 250 matters, including appeals, in both state and federal courts in numerous jurisdictions.

For eight consecutive years, the Pakistani American had been awarded by Super Lawyers the Rising Star Award. She has also served as a board member of the Harris County Democratic Lawyers' Association and Association of Women Attorneys. Moreover, Collier has served on the Women in the Profession Committee of the State Bar of Texas. She has previously served as a co-chair of the Solo Practitioners Section of the Houston Young Lawyers Association. She is also a member of the Houston Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). In addition to all this, Collier has  worked on grassroots efforts and supported other national and local Democratic candidates. No doubt, Collier has numerous supporters on her side.

It is surely a matter of great pride that a female Muslim is now the new judge chosen in US, Texas and is representing the talent the Muslim Ummah holds. May Allah (SWT) keep bestowing the Muslims worldwide such successes and decrease the widely spread Islamophobic sentiment. Even if you strive to achieve something, keep praying to Allah(SWT) as the Quran says:

O you who have believed, fear Allah and seek the means [of nearness] to Him and strive in His cause that you may succeed. (Surah Maidah:35)
