The Global Islamic Economy Summit (GIES) is the world’s largest and most comprehensive forum dedicated to the Islamic economy. In its fourth edition, GIES holds the theme “A Shared Future” and brings together policymakers, industry experts and economists from around the world. It has finally started and will be marking the end of its 4th edition tomorrow evening (31 October 2019). The event is Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the summit brings together influential policymakers and experts to address the greatest challenges and opportunities in the Islamic economy. Dedicated to one of the best-performing markets in the world, GIES represents an estimated $2 trillion in consumer spending, by nearly 1.6 billion predominantly young Muslims worldwide. Spending by this population, which is expanding at twice the rate of the global population, is forecast to reach $2.6 trillion by 2020. Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry was established in 1965 by a decree issued by the late Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, who realized the important role that a chamber of commerce could play in supporting the national economy.

2. Dubai Islamic Economy Development Centre

Dubai Islamic Economy Development Centre (DIEDC) was established in December 2013 to transform Dubai into the ‘Capital of Islamic Economy’, as envisioned by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
