فَقُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ
Faqutila kayfa qaddara
Dem Tod geweiht sei er, wie seine Abwägung war!
ثُمَّ قُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ
Thumma qutila kayfa qaddara
Noch einmal: Dem Tod geweiht sei er, wie seine Abwägung war!
ثُمَّ عَبَسَ وَبَسَرَ
Thumma AAabasa wabasara
Dann runzelte er die Stirn und zeigte Widerwillen,
ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ وَٱسْتَكْبَرَ
Thumma adbara waistakbara
Dann kehrte er den Rücken und verhielt sich hochmütig,
فَقَالَ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌ يُؤْثَرُ
Faqala in hatha illa sihrun yutharu
Und er sagte: «Das ist doch nur eine Zauberei, die (sonst) überliefert wird.
إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا قَوْلُ ٱلْبَشَرِ
In hatha illa qawlu albashari
Das sind nur die Worte von Menschen.»
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا سَقَرُ
Wama adraka ma saqaru
Woher sollst du wissen, was das Höllenfeuer ist?
لَا تُبْقِى وَلَا تَذَرُ
La tubqee wala tatharu
Es läßt keinen Rest bestehen, und es läßt nichts übrigbleiben.
