Muslim influencers you should follow on social media

Muslim scholars are, in essence, successors of the defenders of Islam. There’s a vast number of Islamic Scholars preaching throughout the globe who serve in the name of Islam using their knowledge and “Dawah”- the act of inviting people to Islam. They spread the Message of Islam not only through their lectures but live as a practical example of what they preach.

Muslim Scholars have played a pertinent role in the dissemination of Islamic information in the modern world and worked tirelessly towards the betterment of Islamic society. It is important to note that this is not an easy task, and only those individuals are able to carry it out who can overcome the test of their faith and remain steadfast on the right path. These scholars are worthy of great respect and dignity.

The Prophet (PBUH) said:

“Prophets did not inherit money, but knowledge, so he who is lucky, follows the same path”

Here is a list of some renowned Islamic scholars or preachers who you should follow on social media and avail the opportunity to learn what Islam stands for and how we may be able to integrate it into our daily lives:


Mufti Ismail Menk

He is a leading global Islamic scholar who was born and raised in Zimbabwe. He studied ‘Shariah’ in Madinah and holds a Doctorate of Social Guidance from Aldersgate University.

Mufti Menk’s work has attained global recognition and he has been titled one of “The Top 500 Most Influential Muslims in the World” since 2010. His social media platforms have millions of followers from all across the world. His amiable style and modest approach has earned him the position of being one of the most popular scholars of our time. He has endeared himself to Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

His world tours are all aimed at spreading a simple, yet profound message:

“Do good, help others while preparing for the Hereafter”.

Nouman Ali Khan

He’s a young American nationality based Muslim speaker and the founder, CEO and founder of Bayyinah, the Institute for Qur’anic and Arabic studies. He preaches about Islam through aspirational videos, lectures and social networks such as Facebook, Twitter etc. He delivers various sermons at Islamic Circle of North America conferences and institutions worldwide about topics catering to Islamophobia, hypocrisy, parenting, misconceptions about Islam, and many more.

Nouman Ali Khan is known for his simplified and easy-to-grasp ‘tafseer’ of the Quran which aims to break down complex and multifaceted Islamic concepts into more comprehensible lines of thought which are easier for the common man to understand and therefore, are easier to implement in life.


Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips

Commonly known as Dr. Bilal Philips, he was born in Jamaica and converted to Islam in 1972. His whole life has been exemplified by his prime goal of not only seeking but also conveying Islamic knowledge to the world in order to “Change the Muslim Nation through Islamic Education”. He is an author, teacher and a renowned scholar who considers himself a traditional advocate of Islam.

He is among the most inspirational Islamic Scholars today. His greatest achievement, and the one for which he was awarded the title of being in the list of ‘The 500 Most Influential Muslims’, is the founding of the Islamic Online University which has over 80,000 students registered from across the globe, and it is absolutely free. He has also written, translated and commented on more than fifty published books on various Islamic topics. He has presented several Islamic programs and given lectures for a number of channels like Riyadh Channel 2TV, Sharjah TV, Peace TV, UK, and the Deen Show, Chicago, USA etc.


Yusuf Estes

Sheik Yusuf Estes is quite a popular scholar among the youth and adults alike. He is perceived to be quite “humorous” in his lectures pertaining to Islam and its message.

His lectures in universities, public and military venues are not just limited to Muslims but caters to people from all faiths, be it Muslim, Hindu, Christian, Jew etc. Many preachers and priests compliment his style of preaching as a breath of fresh air and as an enlightening picture of the world's fastest growing religion i.e. Islam.

He invites people to Islam on a global scale, using straight talk and humor, whilst also combating many of the harsh attacks made against Islam and Muslims. He makes it fun and easy for all to understand.


Abdur Raheem Green

Originally born a Catholic Christian, Abdur Raheem Green studied History at the University of London, and practiced Buddhism for 3 years. His quest to find meaning in life eventually led him to the door of Islam and he gradually converted. Since then, he took it upon himself to invite the world to witness the beauty of Islam.

He is currently the chairperson at IERA (Islamic Education & Research Academy). He especially focuses on ‘Dawah’ and is known for it. He’s currently a speaker for Peace TV and engages in multiple education and media works on Peace TV and is known for his inspirational lectures on Islam and its magnificence.

These are just a handful of inspirational Muslim scholars who live for the purpose of spreading the profound message of Islam and its tidings, in the hope that people around the world come to know of its perfection and splendor and actively implement it in their everyday lives.
