(3413) The Statement of Allah: “And verily, Yunus 9Jonah) was one of the Messengers... (up to)... And he had done an act worthy of blame. (V.37:139-148)
حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: "مَا يَنْبَغِي لِعَبْدٍ أَنْ يَقُولَ إِنِّي خَيْرٌ مِنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ مَتَّى وَنَسَبَهُ إِلَى أَبِيهِ".
SAHIH HADITH:
Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The Prophet said, No slave (of Allah) should say that I am better than Yunus bin Matta. So the Prophet mentioned his father's name with his name.
