(2815) The superiority of (those people for whom) the following Statement of Allah (was revealed): “Think not of those who are killed in the Way of Allah as dead. Nay, they are alive, with their Lord, and they have provision. They rejoice in what Allah has betowed upon them of His Bounty, and rejoice for the sake of those who have not yet joined them, but are left behind (not yet martyred) that on them no fear shall come, nor shall they grieve. They rejoice in aGrace and a Bounty from Allah, and that Allah will not waste the reward of the believers. (V.3:169-171)
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا، يَقُولُ: اصْطَبَحَ نَاسٌ الْخَمْرَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ، ثُمَّ قُتِلُوا شُهَدَاءَ، فَقِيلَ لِسُفْيَانَ: مِنْ آخِرِ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ، قَالَ: لَيْسَ هَذَا فِيهِ.
SAHIH HADITH:
Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah: Some people drank alcohol in the morning of the day (of the battle) of Uhud and were martyred (on the same day). Sufyan was asked, (Were they martyred) in the last part of the day?) He replied, Such information does not occur in the narration.
