(5037) Forgetting the Quran. And can one say: “I forgot such and such a Verse?”
حَدَّثَنَا رَبِيعُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا، قَالَت: "سَمِعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلًا يَقْرَأُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، فَقَالَ: يَرْحَمُهُ اللَّهُ لَقَدْ أَذْكَرَنِي كَذَا وَكَذَا آيَةً مِنْ سُورَةِ كَذَا".
SAHIH HADITH:
Narrated Aisha: The Prophet heard a man reciting the Qur'an in the mosque and said, May Allah bestow His Mercy on him, as he has reminded me of such-and-such Verses of such a Surah.
